Another week has passed and it's another week closer to Christmas! Yay! However, this also means it's another week closer to deadlines...not so yay! I'm quite tired (due to so much hard work, obviously), so it will probably be a reasonably short blog this week. Having said that, I'll probably end up going on for ages anyway.
I'd just like to start by thanking each and every single person that is involved in my life in a positive way, no matter how much I see or talk to you. These past few weeks have been a bit rough, but thanks to all of my fantastic friends I'm pulling through. So yes, that means you! Merci buckets and so on. Have a biscuit. Go on, they're delicious!
Right, blog stuff. As indicated by the title, I have been spending much of my time recently in our wonderful university library! Sarcasm aside, it's a pretty good place, and I do end up spending most of my time there towards the end of term. But I'm clearly not the only one...it's getting harder and harder to find somewhere to sit. It's even harder than trying to find a non-sexual metaphor for how hard something is. Trickier than Iago from Aladdin? That'll do. Tougher still is finding a seat near a plug for my laptop. The main reason I go to the library is because I'm distracted by too much at home, so a library environment provides me with peace and quiet and frees me from distractions...at least, it did before I discovered how to get internet in the library! Oh dear...
Vaguely tied in with this is the topic if politeness. Let's see if I can link this without too big a stretch. The other day I had to talk to one of the library staff; how or why is not important, but it definitely was not because I'd left my library card at home. In any case, the member of staff was extremely helpful and polite, so thank you Polite Library Man, your powers are truly underated. And this just made me think how simple and easy it is to be polite. It really doesn't take a lot of effort, seriously. I mean okay, I can understand people have bad days, or are shy, or whatever, but just a little effort goes such a long way! So that's the end of me being preachy, many apologies, but I know I really appreciate others doing it to me and do my best to return the favour.
...well, I don't think that was too long was it? No? Well if it was, you've just wasted your life reading it and therefore have no right to complain. But well done you for finishing, have another biscuit. I'm off to do something vaguely interesting, and am going to leave you with this thought: at the time of writing this (Sunday 6th December) it is less than 19 days until Christmas!
